Finally, I get to march in the gay pride parade. Finally, I can smile to the TV cameras without worrying about who may or may not see me.

The Queen vs The Muslims
Great. So the muslims will go suicide bombing the Buckingham Palace now?? Freaking Morons! How can they not see this coming?!
I don't know enough about The Satanic Verses to judge if that Rushdie guy really deserves being knighted or if the whole thing is a calculated move. But hey, Christians didn't go around killing Dan Brown and Tom Hanks for the Da Vinci Code, and Catholics didn't call for the execution of South Park's Matt and Trey for their Bloody Mary or Easter (Egg) Special episodes.
It's always those supposed extreme Islamist "minority"...
Althought I have beer-drinking muslim friends, I do have a hard time trying to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion that is compatible with the 21st century modern life.

Good Bye Styrofoam
One of the reasons why I love SF is how progressive it is. As of June 1st 2007, the 3000 restaurants in San Francisco can no longer use food containers made of the not-so-easily-recyclable Styrofoam (expanded polystyrene)!
Yippy! No more floating white bits on the beach! Those unadjustified 5 minute-convenience that end up hanging around almost forever.
But guess what. Berkeley banned it back in 1990, and so has Portland, Suffolk, Oakland, Santa Monica and Toronto.
Let's hope this list will get longer and longer, eventually covering the whole world :)
(I'm slightly surprised that we haven't come up with bacteria that disgest these polystyrene. Afterall, it only took 30 years for Nylon-eating bugs to evolve in the "wild")
Hmm, what nasty modern inventions should we rid of next?
